A Report On The E-C Translation Of Mechanical Product Instruction Of Company KB(Excerpts)

China has become the country with the largest operating mileage of high-speed railway in the world,and the related industries of high-speed railway market are also booming.More and more foreign enterprises seize the opportunity to invest and build factories in China to produce mechanical products related to high-speed railway construction,and the translation of relevant mechanical product instructions also increases.The paper takes the mechanical product instruction in railway brake system as the research object,aiming to provide some reference for the translation of mechanical product instruction.Based on the guidance of Skopos theory,the paper mainly adopts the strategy of domestication,and the methods of literal translation,free translation,conversion and splitting.This paper mainly consists of five parts:firstly,the author introduces the background,significance of the translation task and the linguistic features of the source text;secondly,the author introduces Skopos theory and the reason for choosing Skopos theory as the theoretical guide;then,the author describes translation process,including pre-translation preparations,problems encountered in translating and revision after translation;after that,under the guidance of Skopos theory,the author makes case analysis from lexical and syntactic levels;finally,the author summarizes the experience gained from the translation task and some limitations.
