Since China’s entrance into the World Trade Organization(WTO),in line with the trend of economic globalization,the connection between economies of all countries in the world has become more and more close.Besides,with the rapid development of China’s economic strength and international status,it has attracted more and more foreign capital,which leads to the increasing multinational companies in China.Under the background of deepening internationalization of enterprises,cross-cultural communication among employees in multinational enterprises is becoming more and more frequent,which requires employees to have a higher level of cross-cultural ability.At the same time,with the increasingly fierce competition among enterprises,task performance,as an important factor of the development of companies,has attracted more and more attention from enterprise managers and scholars.Taking cultural intelligence,acculturation models and job performance as the theoretical basis,this paper aims at exploring whether cultural intelligence and reflection can affect task performance and how they influence it.In this study,Chinese employees of multinational corporations in China are selected as research objects.A total of 216 questionnaires are collected and analyzed by SPSS software.The findings are as follows: A)Older employees who work longer in the company perform better in cultural intelligence,sociocultural adaptation,reflection and task performance.What’s more,compared with ordinary employees,managers show higher cultural intelligence and more reflection in the workplace,thus they can adapt themselves to strange cultural environments better and deliver better task performance.B)Cultural intelligence can significantly affect task performance which means higher cultural intelligence can encourage better job performance.C)Reflection can significantly affect task performance.Put another way,employees who have better reflection ability can deliver better performance.D)Sociocultural adaptation plays a mediating role between cultural intelligence and task performance,which indicates cultural intelligence can affect task performance accompanied with the mediator of sociocultural adaptation.E)Sociocultural adaptation equally plays a mediating role between reflection and task performance,which means reflection can ultimately affect task performance by influencing sociocultural adaptation.Based on the above research findings,this paper provides some suggestions for the employees of multinational companies in China on how to communicate in a diversified environment for the purpose of working efficiently and effectively.
