| This thesis is developed in the form of an interpreting practice report.Because errors are inevitable in the learning process, based on the theory of error analysis, this report takes the interpreting practice in a Portuguese port wine lecture as an example to explain how to use this theory to analyze errors that occur in consecutive interpreting, focusing on the errors with high frequency.By systematically organizing the existing theories as well as the combination of the writer’s practical experience, the report hopes to provide useful suggestions for the learners of the same level. This thesis introduces the basic situation of the practice by taking this interpreting as a clue and error analysis as the theoretical framework. It focuses on analyzing the errors that arise during the practice, and combines this practice to find out reasons for the errors and corresponding solutions. After analysis,it is found that information error and expression error are the two main types of interpreting errors in consecutive interpreting. It is worth mentioning that the three main forms of information error are omission, addition and misinformation.Additionally, repetition and inappropriate pauses are the main forms of expression error.Furthermore, the main factors that cause errors in interpreting can be roughly divided into the interpreter’s language competence and extra-linguistic competence. Finally, the main strategies to reduce the errors in interpreting are to enhance the language competence,to develop note-taking skills,to exercise the memory training and to improve the psychological quality. In this research, the writer found that the most frequent errors were inappropriate pauses and repetition. At the same time, the interpreter’s own psychological quality also plays a crucial role in interpreting.Through this practice, the writer has exercised her ability of consecutive interpreting, increased her reserve of professional knowledge, and gained a further understanding of her deficiencies in consecutive interpreting. |
