| Both Chinese and Thai have abundant color words.Color words in different languages have one thing in common,that is,in addition to expressing their physical colors,they also have different symbolic meanings.Thailand is a country with a very sensitive to colors,Thai and Chinese basic color words and the basic cultural connotation of color words are quite different,the Chinese color words,contains the deep connotation of the Chinese culture,has a strong Chinese cultural characteristics,strengthen the teaching of the basic color words in Chinese meaning helps to promote cultural understanding,reduce misunderstanding and conflicts in cross-cultural communication.By sorting out other researchers’ definition criteria for color words and basic color words,the author established the range of basic color words to be studied in this paper.In the contrastive analysis of Chinese and Thai six basic color word meaning is analyzed,the author thinks that the associative meaning of basic color words in Chinese sources more abundant,and the same color word there is a lot of associative meaning between more closely linked,and the basic color words in Thai,associative meaning is relatively simple,so the author tries from the geographic climate characteristics,religious belief,political factors,national psychology,four aspects analyzes the cause of associative meaning differences.In addition,the author in the Mae Fah Luang university internship,found that there are many courses involve the associative meaning of Chinese color words in the school of Sinology,so the author gave the students a questionnaire and then found that although the students have learned a lot of the association of Chinese color words,but most of the students did not learn,but use the associative meaning of Thai to understand Chinese color words.The author further interviewed the students and learned that although the students had been learned the associative meaning of Chinese color words in a variety of courses,however,they did not learn the associative meaning systematically,and the teacher didn’t explain the origin of the associative meaning when teaching,but asked the students to memorize it mechanically,so the students were easy to learn and forget.Finally,the author combined the causes of students’ errors to carry out the teaching design and practice of the associative meaning of Chinese basic color words.From the feedback of classroom teaching practice,the design of the teaching scheme is feasible and effective.Therefore,based on the teaching practice process and teaching feedback results,the author puts forward specific teaching Suggestions,hoping to help the teaching of associative meaning of Chinese color words in Thai Chinese teaching. |
