Research On The Translation And Publication Of Foreigners’ Travels In Modern Northwest China Since 1978

Since 1978,the Chinese translation and publication of foreigners’ travels in modern Northwest China has many aspects of research value.A long-term investigation will help to increase the depth of historical understanding and provide a reference for the development of the publishing industry.From the perspective of modern history,tourism history,and publishing history,the overall grasp of the Northwestern travels published by Chinese translation since 1978 will lay a foundation for the development of related issues discussed in this paper.The series plays a pivotal role in the development of the publishing industry.Since 1978,the travels of the foreigners in the Northwest in Chinese translation have appeared mainly in series(collected in related series).Xinjiang People’s Publishing House’s three editions of the “Western Region Expeditionary Series” series are the most important.Making timely adjustments and updates to the series of books has enabled the series of books to acquire long-term vitality,thereby better exerting the role of travel notes in Chinese translation.The content of travel notes is complex and has many historical data values.Taking specific travel notes as the starting point,we have seen the contemporary academic circles’ use of the Chinese translation of modern travel notes in Northwest China.The redevelopment of the historical data of travel notes is emphasized.This paper emphasizes the development of historical materials on specific topics and comprehensive use of various historical materials to expand the breadth and depth of historical material development,and promote specific research and emerging research such as image history,animal and plant history.The translation of travels to the northwest in modern times involves multiple languages,and translators in specific languages are difficult to find.In modern times,the travels to the northwest involve complex and diverse knowledge points,making translation difficult.Under the existing conditions,publishers should promote the publishing of Chinese translations of travels to the northwest in modern times.We must actively discover new travel journals and promote the publication of modern travels in the Northwest.The translation and publishing of the Northwestern travels in modern times must have a sense of region and break through the sense as well.The publishing,academia and translation circles should have sufficient ambitions to promote and facilitate the publishing and use of Chinese translations of travels by foreigners in modern China as a large systematically engineering project,making achievements worthy of the times.
