This translated text comes from the fifth chapter of Jim Goodman’s Yunnan：China Southof the Clouds who is a famous American writer and photographer. This part is guided by translation theories andtranslation strategies that we have learned and combined translator’s own translation practices todiscuss some matters that we need to care during translating the travel text. Above all, it canprovide the original translation text for the reader.
