| English,as the most widely used language in the world,takes a significant place in our life.In our junior high school education,the importance of English is the same as that of Chinese and mathematics.Grammar is an important part in English learning.It reveals the various rules of vocabulary,the inflection of verbs,and the formation of words.The understanding of grammatical rules can improve students’ comprehensive abilities of English,such as their reading and writing abilities,etcs.This research is based on brain science theory,constructivist learning theory,and knowledge visualization.The author uses questionnaires,interviews,experiments,and SPSS data analysis to study the application of Mind Map in grammar teaching in junior middle schools.And the author wants to know whether Mind Map is effective in improving students’ learning interest and performance.The research questions are as follows.(1)Can Mind Map stimulate the classroom atmosphere and enhance students’ interest in learning?(2)Can Mind Map enhance students’ ability to use grammar knowledge flexibly?(3)Can Mind Map improve students’ memory of grammar knowledge,thus effectively improve English scores?The entire teaching process lasted for more than three months.The experiment is divided into three parts,which are the pre-experiment,the experiment and the post-experiment stages.In the pre-experiment,the author chooses two parallel classes,which are divided into the experimental classes and the control classes.In the experiment,the author asks the students in the experimental class to apply Mind Map during the process of learning grammar.In the control class,the author uses traditional English teaching methods.Apart from the different teaching methods,the class time and teaching content of the two classes are the same.After the students learn the grammar,the authors tests the two classes separately.The authors arrives at some conclusions after analyzing experimental data.There are significant differences in the performance of the experimental class and the control class.Here are the results.(1)The adoption of Mind Map in the teaching process encourages students to participate more in the classroom activities,thus activate the classroom atmosphere.It can help students overcome the fear of English grammar and study English in a more effective way.(2)Mind Map can help students sort out the structure and rules of grammatical knowledge and improve their ability to use them.(3)This study is conductive to improving students’ memory of grammar knowledge and helping them to grasp the key points in the process of making Mind Map.It can improve students’ performance and let students get a sense of achievement. |
