This article takes the Art Expo as the research object,selects the Art Xiamen Expo as the key inspection target,and uses a variety of research methods such as participatory surveys and case studies to investigate and analyze the Art Expo in various aspects.Through the discussion and analysis of the phenomenon of art fair and related theories of art sociology,this article considers that art fair itself is not a pure art exhibition or a pure commodity trading activity.It is both an economic activity and a cultural event.Political propaganda is intricately intertwined with social relations and social structures.This article starts with the controversial modern and contemporary art and finds that classic art theory and aesthetic standards have been severely impacted by modern and avant-garde avant-garde art,the boundaries of art have been continuously widened,and they are more and more closely connected with daily life.Today,when we examine the phenomenon of art,we are no longer confined to the art’s internal world(composition,color,technique,style,genre,etc.),but we also need to pay attention to the external world connected with art.From this,this article introduces the theory of the art system that has developed from Arthur Danto,George Dicky to Howard Berk.Place art fairs into the framework of the art system for discussions,taking care of many aspects such as art production,art dissemination,and art distribution.Focusing on the perspectives of the exhibition organizing committee,gallery organization,collectors’ audience,and government media,this article conducts a more comprehensive three-dimensional investigation.The organizing committee,gallery,and the public constitute the basic operating chain of the art expo.The organizing committee plays an important role at multiple levels.Galleries and other participating institutions will also adopt multiple marketing strategies to achieve the art As a result of sales,public participation is more ritual participation,and the purpose of participating in art fairs is achieved through symbolic "check-in" and taking pictures.Through the discussion of the article,we can find that around the art expo,the rules of the commodity economy and the operating logic of money talk are inevitable,which is also the essence of art going to the market.The cultural context and consumer discourse since the postmodern period are the important background of this article’s examination of art expo.The global integration of cultures brings a broader artistic vision and at the same time puts the subjectivity of cultural identity of contemporary art to the test.Surrounded by the complex connections of politics,economy,and culture,they form a miniature landscape of the contemporary art world,and provide new samples and references for us to rethink the relationship between art and social relations and social structures.
