With the continuous improvement of China’s comprehensive strength and participation in international affairs,China has become the focus of attention in the world.But China’s development has been accompanied by negative voices from the international public opinion field.Therefore,to show the world a real,three-dimensional,objective China has become an important task of China’s current external communication work.In the process of international communication,the documentary film of the International Communication Award has achieved good communication effect.Therefore,its international communication strategy is worthy of academic attention.This paper selects all the documentaries in the 2013(23rd)to 2020(30rd)International Communication Awards as the research sample,this paper analyzes the national image and international communication strategy through Content analysis,literature analysis and case study.This article first from the political,cultural,social and economic four dimensions,analysis of the award-winning documentary on the external presentation of the image of China.The award-winning documentaries have shaped the image of a friendly,cooperative and responsible power in the political dimension and an inclusive,deep and confident power in the cultural dimension In the social dimension,it created the image of a big country with peaceful life and rich spirit,and in the economic dimension,it created the image of a big country with stable development and mutual benefit.Secondly,this paper analyzes the international communication strategies of the award-winning documentaries based on narratology,Trans-cultural diffusion and international communication.Mainly from the topic selection strategy,content narrative strategy and audio-visual narrative strategy three aspects of the study.First,the choice of topics is mainly based on"Political factors"and"Cross-cultural factors"to consider the theme of selective focus.Secondly,the narrative strategy of the award is divided into three parts:"Other narrative"to construct"Other identity",the narrative expression of multiple perspectives,and familiar theme of"Defamiliarization".Thirdly,the research on the audio-visual narrative strategy of the International Communication Award documentary is divided into three parts:the use of familiar symbols,the popular expression of commentary and the intimate presentation of picture composition.Finally,this article will be based on the International Communication Award documentary narrative strategy,this paper provides some practical suggestions for the development of Chinese documentary films,such as setting up the"Alternative"topic of recessive communication political intention,other narration and cultural integration,constructing the popular discourse system,knowing the subject matter and de-familiarizing treatment.
