A Study On The Signification-intention And Signification-fulfilling Of Phenomenology

For Husserl,the sixth of the six studies in Logical Investigations was the most important.In the sixth investigation,the analysis of "signification-intention" and "signification-fulfilling" involves the more fundamental "perception" and "intuitive" in Husserl’s analysis of conscious behavior.In the sixth investigation,Husserl is concerned with clarifying the possibility of cognition."To know an object",in Husserl’s view,means to "fulfill an object".The first two chapters of this paper will analyze Husserl’s theory of "signification-intention" and "signification-fulfilling".These two chapters are the focus of this paper.In every expression we make,there is a "signification-intention" of that expression,and it is this "signification-intention" that distinguishes our "expression" from mere "speech"."signification-fulfilling" means that the "signification-intention" of the expression is confirmed in "intuition",and what we intend to get is "the same" as what we intuitively get.The third chapter examines "undeceiving",a concept opposed to "fulfilling",which refers to the situation where "intuition" does not correspond to "signification-intention".Husserl’s research on "signification-intention" and "signification-fulfilling" has also exerted a certain influence on other philosophers."signification-intention" and "signification-fulfilling" are not only important concepts in the sixth study,but also included in Husserl’s thought in the middle and late period.The last chapter of this paper will discuss these investigations of Husserl.One of the important functions of phenomenology is that it provides us with a set of methods for cognition the world.In phenomenology,the world we know is the object world "constructed" in our consciousness.The dynamic combination of "signification-intention" and "signification-fulfilling" enables us to fully grasp this world.
