A Study On Mu Shouqi And His Poems

Mu Shouqi was a litterateur,a historian and a giant of academic circle in modern times,a leader of the 1911 Revolution in Gansu.During his life,he has studied history,literature,and philosophy;taught and educated people,peaches and plums are full of life;honesty and public service,with a single heart for the people.Mu Shouqi’s historical work The Brief History of Gansu-Ningxia-Qinghai can be called "the Northwest Encyclopedia",Mu Shouqi wrote incessantly,but many works have not been sorted out and published,and there is no comprehensive and systematic research.This article will start from the perspective of paying attention to local literature and studying local poets,make full use of the previous research results of Mu Shouqi,carefully study Mu Shouqi’s Qushizhai Poem Collection and related works,excavate relevant materials in local literature,and adopt knowledge of people.On the research method of the world,combined with Mu Shouqi’s life experience and modern social background,it conducts in-depth research from five aspects of Mu Shouqi’s life writing,communication,poetry propositions,poetry thought content,and artistic characteristics.The introduction part of this article interprets the reasons and significance of the topic selection based on the social background and literati creation,combs the current situation of Mu Shouqi’s research from the aspects of life,communication,writing,and poetry,and summarizes the main directions and deficiencies of Mu Shouqi’s research.The main body of the thesis is composed of five chapters: Chapter One has a macro grasp of Mu Shouqi’s life and deeds,and further studies his writings on this basis.The second chapter examines Mu Shouqi’s contacts from three aspects,namely,his mentor,Longyuan confidant,and colleagues,and explores his mentality and literary creation.The third chapter combines the creative environment of traditional literati in modern society,and through the refinement of relevant poetic thoughts in Mu Shouqi’s preface and other literary content,discusses Mu Shouqi’s poetics from three aspects: the source of poetry,phonology,and creative rules.The fourth chapter summarizes the ideological content of Mu Shouqi’s poems from four aspects: documentary worrying about the people,chanting history,reminiscing about the past,landscape and pastoral,and thinking about relatives and friends,and expressed his true temperament through poems.Chapter 5 analyzes the genre,language,style,and performance techniques of Mu Shouqi’s poems.Summarizing his artistic characteristics as rooted in poems and poems,Du Fu in poetry;both styles,especially close styles;diverse styles,mainly melancholy;clever use of allusions,pursuit of elegance in four aspects.The remaining part starts from Mu Shouqi’s life deeds and academic works,and fully affirms Mu Shouqi’s important contributions to modern Gansu literary circles,Gansu society,and Northwestern history.
