This report is focused on the analysis of the translation of Outward Investment and Cooperation Guide for Republic of Belarus.Outward Investment and Cooperation Guide for Republic of Belarus not only includes the basic situation and national conditions of Belarus,but also covers the relevant policies and regulations.Since 2009,the Ministry of Commerce of China has organized experts to compile Outward Investment and Cooperation Guide,which covers more than 70 countries and regions.Every year,the original data,information,policies and regulations are comprehensively updated.As an important public service product,translating the guide will provide a reference for the English-speaking investors.The translator of the report is an intern in Gansu HATG LLC,a state-owned investment company,which has business contact with the Republic of Belarus.Entrusted by Gansu HATG LLC,the translator translated the third chapter(3.5-3.16),and used it as her analysis object.The source text belongs to informative text,and the translator uses the foreignization as the major translation strategy and combines it with domestication,in order to preserve the original’s flavor,and concisely and accurately express information.In this report,the translator illustrates the background and the source of the translation task,the type and characteristics of the source text,the choice of translation tools and parallel texts,quality control in mid-translation and the reflection in after-translation.The translator encountered difficulties in the translation process,such as terminology,notional words,interrogative sentences,sentences without subject,coordination and subordination,and cohesion and coherence.Under the guidance of Reiss’ s text typology,the translator uses the foreignization and domestication as her translation strategy,and combines some translation techniques,such as addition,omission,division and combination to solve the encountered difficulties.In the end,the whole translation process is summarized and the unsolved problems are reflected.In the fifth chapter,the translator points out that once the text type is determined,the whole translation process should follow its text type,especially in the choice of words,sentences structures and style.The target language should be accurate and rigorous.The expression should be professional,natural and fluent,and the language style of the original should be retained as much as possible.
