An E-C Translation Practice Report On Users’ Manual For Portable Air Compressor

The users’ manual is a guidance for the operation and maintenance of electromechanical devices.It consists of specifications,operating principles,safety precautions and maintenance methods,which aims at providing guidance on how to operate and maintain portable air compressors for domestic customers.Thus,accuracy of translation is essential to the appropriate use,maintenance of the equipment and safe production of the company as well.Based on the translation practice—Users’ Manual for Portable Air Compressor,this translation report is intended to review and summarize the whole translation practice from preparation to final proof-reading.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,the author analyzes various translation techniques employed to overcome the difficulties such as terms,nominalization and complex sentences in the process of translation,in the hope that the report can provide some experience for the similar translation practice in the future.
