Translation Practice Report On BPaL Regimen For Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis

With the development of science and technology,the types of machine translation platforms are more diverse.This translation practice report makes the best of the Volctrans System to translate text of The bedaquiline,pretomanid and linezolid(BPa L)regimen for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis.In the procedure of post-editing,the properly translated parts are retained while the mistakes are post-edited by using specific methods,so as to deliver intact and high-quality version.This translation practice report will first undertake to introduce the advantages and mistakes in using the Volctrans System to accomplish the translation task,and then some methods of post editing to correct the mistakes are proposed.This report is divided into four parts,namely introduction,the execution process of the Volctrans System and post-edtion,case analysis and summary.Through case analysis in the third part,it is found that the Volctrans System perform well in dealing with rare and compound words,short and simple sentences and it also presents many sentences can be directly used.However,there were some errors in the translation of abbreviations,drug names,amphibian words,polysemy and nominalization structure.In passive sentences,attributive clauses and adverbial clauses,the Volctrans System needs upgrading,with problems like heavy traces of machine translation and lack of logical connection.In regard to typical errors in words and sentences,the third part also explains the post-editing process with examples and proposes practical solutions.It is hoped that this translation practice report can provide more reference for the E-C translation of medical texts under the mode of machine translation and post-editing.
