Since the reform and opening up,translation of traditional Chinese medicine classics has seen vibrant development with the progress of globalization and the strategy of taking Chinese culture to the global stage.Since Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)is rooted in traditional Chinese culture, the translation of works on TCM is of great significance to facilitate Chinese culture going out and promote the development of TCM.Therefore,with“eco-translatology” as the theoretical cornerstone, the paper aims to study the guidance role of “eco-translatology” on the translation of TCM works from the perspective of “translator centeredness” in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions.Eco-translatology theory believes that successful translations are often those with the highest degree of holistic adaptation and selection,in which “three-dimensional transformations” plays a decisive role. With multi-dimensional transformations as the standard, translator chooses different techniques to deal with the source text.In linguistic dimension, translation techniques such as literal translation and word order adjustment have been adopted to ensure that the language form and meaning of the original text can be expressed in the target language. In terms of the cultural dimension, translator mainly adopts translation methods like liberal translation and amplification to make sure that the cultural information in the original text can be conveyed in target language. When it comes to communicative dimension, the skills of terminology unification, transliteration, and transliteration with interpretation are implemented to achieve the goal of communication purpose. As a brand-new theoretical system,“eco-translatology” provides a new perspective on translation and serves as fresh blood into the principles and methods of translation.Hopefully, the paper can provide some references for translators engaged in the translation of TCM classics.
