Research On The Belief Ethics Of Contemporary Mainstream Evidentialism | | Posted on:2022-09-29 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y J Zhan | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2505306488953729 | Subject:Foreign philosophy | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The development of contemporary mainstream evidentialism has retained many traditional evidentialism views,such as the confirmation of subject S’s belief completely depends on the evidence of S,and the field of evidentialism only cares about the truth or falsification of the belief.It is precisely these basic issues that have encountered strong refutation and established our mainstream evidentialism today in the defense and defense of several generations of evidentialists.This paper will take the issue of faith ethics as the starting point,to elaborate on the discussion of different scholars on the issue of faith ethics of evidentialism in various periods,trying to understand the development and improvement of the issue of faith ethics comprehensively through different viewpoints and perspectives.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the main forms of contemporary mainstream evidentialism,including evidentialism,psychology and expository theory.In the first part,it emphasizes the position of evidentialism and the best method of expository theory.The second chapter introduces the ethical problem of belief through the elaboration of Clifford’s principle.In this paper,we find that there are many parts that can be discussed in the ethical problem of belief.First of all,we introduce the purely cognitive obligation and its conflict with the traditional obligation view.Evidentialists then define their own boundaries and areas by introducing the idea of "transparency" as a psychological fact about us.In the third chapter,it gradually turns to the debate with pragmatism.In essence,this debate can be seen as a debate between the cognitive duty of evidentialism and the cognitive duty of pragmatism.The focus of the debate is still within the scope of the discussion of belief ethics.Ultimately,a robust pragmatism tries to persuade the Evidentiist to perfect Evidentialism.The last chapter shows that the development of the two opposing theories produced a mutual amalgamation in the process of trying to convince each other thoroughly. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | evidentialism, belief ethics, pragmatism, new evidentialis | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
