‘Huainan’ and ‘Chun Qiu Fan Lu’ were both written in the period of Emperor Wu di of the Western Han Dynasty, which occupy an important position in the history of Chinese thought. The two books are not only important materials for the study of ancient Chinese politics and culture, but also treasure-house for the exploration of the evolution of traditional Chinese thoughts, which have attracted great attention from scholars of all dynasties.Of course, there are numerous researches on the two books. However,in view of the division of four ancient academic departments and the division of modern academic subjects, the academic circle seldom conducts comparative studies on the two books.Dong Zhong Shu,as a key figure in the development of Confucianism, had a place in the history of Confucianism and Confucian classics, while Liu An,the king of Huainan, mostly belonged to Taoism or miscellanistic schools. The distinction between the two seems to be quite distinct, but if we take the time background as a cross-section,we can find many similarities and differences between them, especially the exposition of ‘the theory of the former king’is more obvious. This article tries from the narrow sense of the concept of "king",through the ‘Huainan’ and ‘sections about ‘Chun Qiu Fan Lu’ in "the king","sage","king," and "ordered" and other concepts involved, the argumentation rake comb hide at the back of the two books ‘first Wang Dao’different thought,at the same time reveal stone-working already formed, relatively fixed the first king of discourse system and the value consensus. In not under the premise of factions to distinguish on the Confucianism theory, combining with the historical background of the two books "Wang Zhidao first" concept to understand, mutatis mutandis, refined ‘Huainan’ and sections about ‘Chun Qiu Fan Lu’ in the context of the common characteristics of heterogeneous formation of two books in the late western Han dynasty Confucian classics in the impact of parsing.
