A Comparative Study Of Visual Action Verbs "Qiao" And "Chou" | | Posted on:2022-06-25 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:K X Peng | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2505306485983419 | Subject:Chinese Language and Literature | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | "Qiao" and "Chou" are visual behavioral verbs with high frequency,which have certain relationship,In terms of scope,frequency and meaning,they all have different degrees of commonality;the notes in textbooks and dictionaries are basically similar,and some of them have the cross situation of "rolling and training".In addition,they can be replaced in many cases,and the meaning of sentences is not very different,so it will appear ambiguous in daily use or teaching.This paper takes the two as the research object,and compares the two from three aspects of syntax,semantics and pragmatics,and analyzes the relationship and difference between them in practical use,so as to serve the ontology research and teaching of foreign Chinese as a modern Chinese visual behavioral verb.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the preface,which introduces the reasons,significance,research review and the focus and deficiency of previous research,research methods,corpus sources and so on.The second part is to define the visual action verb,including its definition and standard,the origin of the word "Qiao" and the origin of "Chou",which originated in the Three Kingdoms period,and the word "Chou" appeared later,and it didn’t appear until the Yuan Dynasty.The third part is to analyze the similarities and differences of "Qiao" and "Chou" in the syntactic plane,and discuss from the two aspects of grammatical characteristics and syntactic collocation.There are the same grammatical features and similar syntactic distribution environment between the two,but there are different tendencies in syntactic collocation.The object situation behind "Qiao" mostly refers to a certain scene or situation.The sight is not fixed in one place,and the scope of sight is wide.The object and content of "Qiao" are not single.The object after "look" refers to someone mostly.The difference between "Chou" and "Qiao" is that when the behavior occurs,the focus of the subject is different,and the focus of "Chou" is higher than that of "Qiao"."Qiao" can be used in imperative sentences,with the first sentence placed separately,while "Qiao" cannot.The fourth part is the difference of "Qiao" and "Chou" in the semantic plane.Both of them are interpreted as "look",but the two meanings are described and summarized by combining the corpus.Finally,it is concluded that "Qiao" has five meanings and "Chou" has four meanings.There are both intersection and difference in the meaning of the two.The fifth part is the similarities and differences of "Qiao" and "Chou" in pragmatic plane.This chapter makes a comparative analysis from the two aspects of regional color and pragmatic function of discourse markers."Qiao" means that the meaning generally comes from the northern dialect,with the spoken language color of the north,and the geographical track is also generally the same,all of which are moving from north to south,and then to the central area.Compared with the two,the "Qiao" is used in a wider and wider range of areas throughout the country;therefore,compared with "Chou",the "Chou" has a stronger regional color,which is mostly used in the northern region.The pragmatic function of "you see" and its variants is stronger than "you see" and its variants.The coherence of "you see" and its variant texts is not mature and the emotional attitude is not obvious in interpersonal function.However,due to the influence of northeast dialect,you see and its variants have the function of enhancing the potential of speech. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Qiao, Chou, syntax, semantics, Pragmatics | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
