Study On The Construction Of "VOVdeC"

Among the many types of reactive sentences in traditional Chinese,“VOV de C” is one of the most frequently used ones(de is determined as 得).Based on previous research results,this paper discusses “VOV de C” in four parts:Introduction: According to the definition and criteria of construction,we analyze whether “VOV de C” is consistent with the characteristics of construction.The object of this paper,the meaning and purpose of the topic,the theoretical method,the sources of the corpus and the previous research results related to “VOV de C” are determined.The first chapter discusses the internal structure of “VOV de C” and examines the specifics of each component.For the variant “V”,the access conditions and main features of the verb are studied in terms of both syllable number and denotative function;the discussion of the object “O” starts from two perspectives: composition and denotative analysis of the object;the complement “C” focuses on the constituents,semantic features and semantic direction of the complement.As for the constant term “de” in the construction,this chapter mainly focuses on the meaning and role of “de”.Chapter two analyzes the functions and characteristics of the structure of “VOV de C” from three different perspectives: syntactic,semantic and pragmatic.In the syntactic aspect,the relationship between “VO” and “V de C” is explored;secondly,the syntactic components that the “VOV de C” structure can serve in the sentence are examined.The semantic level identifies the meaning of the construction expressed by “VOV de C” and distinguishes the semantic difference between this construction in different specific contexts.At the pragmatic level,the focus of “VOV de C” is discussed.In addition,the different functions of the construct “VOV de C” in the discourse are discussed.Chapter three compares and contrasts the easily confused constructions and structures,and compares “VOV’s” and “VOVC” with the “VOV de C” syntax respectively.The main purpose is to analyze the similarities and differences in terms of structure,syntactic function and meaning,so as to further grasp the characteristics of“VOV de C” and better distinguish the similar structures.
