After the 1990 s,the field of psychology started paying more attention to the impact of positive factors on individuals.Under the impact of the“positive turn” of psychology,more and more scholars in the field of second language acquisition have begun to pay attention to the impact of positive emotions on language learning,especially the emotion of enjoyment.Because this emotion can expand language learners’ ability of cognition and behavior,and stimulate their willingness to communicate in class,so as to effectively improve their classroom learning efficiency.Furthermore,many studies have shown that enjoyment and anxiety are two independent emotions.Therefore,the researchers should also attach importance to the emotion of enjoyment and explore the factors affecting learners’ English classroom enjoyment so as to more effectively improve classroom efficiency.Among the factors that affect English classroom enjoyment,the researches mainly focus on the individual factors of learners,namely internal factors,while teachers’ factors(external factors),which plays an important role in the generation of learners’ pleasant emotion,are lack of in-depth exploration.Moreover,the research objects are mostly college students,while the researches on senior high school students are less,and it tends to the individual factors of high school students.Therefore,taking senior high school students as the research object,this study explores the teachers’ factors that affect their English classroom enjoyment.In this study,a mixed method is used to explore the current level of high school students’ English classroom enjoyment and find the teachers’ factors which affect high school students’ English classroom enjoyment.The study choose the students of senior 2 as the research object,and 255 students join this survey.The questions discussed are as follows:1.What is the level of high school students’ English classroom enjoyment?2.What are the teachers’ factors that affect high school students’ English classroom enjoyment?In this study,questionnaire and interview were used for data collection.After data collection,SPSS25 and Nvivo12 were used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of questionnaires.Through the analysis,it is found that the senior high school students’ overall level of English classroom enjoyment is at low level.The average of it is 54.49 and the result also shows that the mean of the questionnaire is 3.47.Thus,the senior high school students’ pleasure emotion in English class is at low level and needs to be improved.In addition,the study explores the teachers’ factors that affect senior high school students’ English classroom enjoyment through the focused essay.With the help of the software of Nvivo12 which is a software for the analysis of qualitative data,the author analyses the texts through the open coding and axial coding methods.It is found that there are seven types of teacher factors that affect senior high school students’ enjoyment in English classroom.They are teachers’ personality,teachers’ literacy,teachers’ support,teachers’ teaching content,the organization of teachers’ classroom activity,teachers’ teaching methods and teachers’ classroom emotion.Through this study,besides the teachers’ factors(teachers’ personality,teachers’ support,teachers’ teaching content and the organization of teachers’ classroom activity)which previous studies have found,the author find that teachers’ teaching methods,teachers’ classroom emotion and teachers’ literacy also have impact on senior high school students’ English classroom enjoyment.All of these teacher factors have different degrees of influence on students’ classroom enjoyment.Based on the results of this study about teacher factors,the author provides some feasible suggestions on how to improve high school students’ English classroom enjoyment.At the end of the paper,the limitation and shortcomings of this study are discussed,and the direction of future research is pointed out.
