In the process of the continuous development of the knowledge economy and the information society,education informatization has become the basic trend of education reform.The current situation of rural education in our country is desolate,and rural teachers are the key to improving the quality of rural education and teaching.Under such an educational background,rural English teachers should learn new teaching concepts,change backward teaching methods,learn modern teaching skills,and change traditional teacher roles to ensure the smooth implementation of rural education and cultivate more for the country and society Comprehensive high-quality talents.So what role should rural teachers play in the new era,whether there is a role deviation between what they should be and what they should be,and how should the role of teachers be enriched and updated.These series of issues are to promote teachers to improve the role of teachers and promote The premise of education informatization is also the focus of this research.This research first adopts the literature research method to theoretically construct the role of English teachers in rural middle schools under the background of education informationization.On this basis,the investigation and research method is used to give out questionnaires and interviews as the supplementary form of the teachers.Ran the role-play to investigate.The questionnaire is based on the five dimensions of the teacher’s expected role,combined with the specific role content in the theoretical construction,and set up four demographic variables such as gender,teaching age,and educational background to understand the current background of education informatization The role-playing situation of English teachers in rural middle schools.The study found that the traditional classroom teaching structure of the teacher group has not been fundamentally changed,there is a lack of communication and cooperation between teachersstudents,and teacher-teachers,poor teaching and research awareness,low levels,and lack of modern teaching techniques.Rural teachers,low-educated and low-age teachers have a lot of deviations in their understanding of the role of teachers under the background of educational informationization.Based on the investigation and comprehensive analysis,this research puts forward the following suggestions for improvement in order to help teachers adapt to the educational information environment and improve their role-playing level.First,starting from the teachers themselves,we must first enrich the teachers’ own professional knowledge;secondly,we must change teachers’ concepts and learn new education models;and finally,we must improve teachers’ information literacy.Second,starting from external support to help teachers’ professional development,we must first implement a "people-oriented" teaching management method;secondly,reform the evaluation and examination system;thirdly,actively carry out teacher training activities;and finally,strengthen educational investment in rural schools.
