A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of The Documentary Aerial China

With the economic globalization and the increasingly frequent economic and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries,the rapid development of China has attracted more and more attention from the world.Therefore,it is important to show the world a real China.With the continuous development of China’s documentary industry,many domestic documentaries go to the world and become an important window for the world to know China.The author chose the large-scale documentary Aerial China for the simulated simultaneous interpreting.On the one hand,the author hopes to exercise interpreting skills and on-the-spot adaptability.At the same time,the author hopes that through the translation of the documentary,more foreign audiences can have a better understanding of China and Chinese culture will be spread overseas.Aerial China is a large-scale aerial documentary launched by CCTV in2017.The documentary overlooks today’s China from a new aerial perspective,spanning 23 provinces,5 autonomous regions,4municipalities directly under the central government and 2 special administrative regions.It comprehensively and stereoscopically shows the cultural and historical landscapes,physical and geographical features,as well as the economic and social development of different provinces and cities in China.Firstly this report has a brief introduction of the task and the process of the practice and then analyzes some problems in practice and explores how to use the strategies of syntactic linearity including segmentation,supplement,repetition and conversion of part of speech to solve these problems.This report is expected to explore better interpreting strategies in simultaneous interpretation and provide reference for peers who also wish to devote themselves to interpreting.
