An English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Practice Report Under The Guidance Of The Principle Of Syntactic Linearity

This thesis is an English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice report.The task described in this thesis is the TV program The Supreme beauty of Hubei,Shennongjia Station.The task applied The principle of Syntactic Linearity.The principle of Syntactic Linearity is the key principle of Simultaneous Interpretation.The efficient and accurate application of the principle of Syntactic Linearity can greatly relieve the memory burden of the interpreters,and improve the quality of translation.Based on cases analyses,this thesis uses five skills of the Principle of Syntactic Linearity: Segmentation,Amplification,Repetition,Conversion and Omission,to explain how the Principle of Syntactic Linearity is used to guide the interpreter to carry out the English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting and to save time for the interpreter.At the end of the thesis,the writer learns that the corresponding use of translation skills in different contexts can greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy of translation.Also,the writer concludes the interpretation task,and puts forward and outlook for the future.
