| Reading is not only the main way for English learners to acquire language input,but also one of the important language skills they need to master.English reading is an important part of college English teaching,which emphasizes the development of students’ comprehensive language ability.It focuses on improving students’ ability to acquire,process,analyze and solve information in English.(Requirements for college English teaching,2007)POA is introduced into college English teaching in 2013.The teaching process of the system includes three main parts: motivating,enabling and assessment.On the basis of the input and output theory,it puts them in the same important position and advocates the division of cooperation between students and teachers in English learning.At present,some colleges overemphasize teachers’ scientific research ability and neglect their classroom teaching ability.This situation resulting in some English teachers have no time to accept and understand the new teaching ideas,and cannot effectively apply teaching strategies to practice.Based on the theory of constructivist theory and cognitive theory,the paper designs an effective teaching strategies of college English reading based on POA.Through a semester of experimental teaching,the aim is to answer the following three questions: 1)What is the current situation of college English reading teaching strategies? 2)How to implement the college English reading teaching strategies based on POA? 3)Can college English teaching strategies improve students’ reading performance based on POA?From the practical point of view,this study conducted a questionnaire survey among 32 teachers of the POA in Shenyang Normal University,and interviewed 6of them.The subjects include 75 non-English major sophomores from Shenyang Normal University.In the teaching experiment,the same teacher and the same textbook are used to teach.The experiment lasted for 16 weeks.Through pre-test and post-test,the results were compared and analyzed with SPSS 25.0 software,and draw the conclusion.By analyzing the data of pre-test and post-test,questionnaire and interview,in this paper,based on the POA teaching strategies of college English reading,draws the following conclusions: 1)At present,the reading teaching strategies used by teachers in POA are too single.Although teachers want the opportunity to train,but because of time,energy and other reasons,there is no good opportunity to improve teaching.2)The implementation of the POA teaching strategies of college English reading is effective in motivating,enabling and assessment.3)After a semester of experiments,the POA teaching strategies of college English reading can improve student’s reading achievement.It is hoped that this study will explore the effectiveness of the POA in college English reading teaching strategies.Meanwhile,it can provide new teaching ideas and inspirations for teachers.It enables teachers to understand how to use the POA in college English reading teaching strategies,which is more effectively to help students improve their reading performance. |
