Based on the “China Education Modernization 2035” and “General High School English Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)”,this thesis aims to explore the impact of blended learning model on high school students’ English autonomous learning ability.Through the literature analysis of blended learning and autonomous learning ability at home and abroad,two problems to be solved in this thesis are raised,namely,what is the impact of blended learning model on high school students’ English autonomous learning ability and how to develop high school students’ English autonomous learning ability under the blended learning model.Literature studies have found that domestic and foreign blended learning focuses more on practical applications than theoretical studies,and domestic research on blended learning model lacks a corresponding evaluation system to supervise students’ learning process,and at the same time the most of research combining autonomous learning ability with blended learning is focused on students in college,and there are very few valuable documents in the field of basic education.In view of this,this thesis applies blended learning to high school English teaching practice.According to the characteristics of students’ physical and mental development and the actual situation of high school English teaching,this thesis designed a high school English blended learning model and carried out a teaching practice.The study experimented on 102 students in the first grade of a high school in Harbin.Through questionnaire survey and data analysis of students’ English autonomous learning ability before and after the experiment,combined with the students’ post-experiment interview records and usual classroom observation records analysis,the main results are as follows: firstly,the blended learning model can improve high school students’ English autonomous learning ability;secondly,helping students understand the teacher’s teaching goals and requirements,helping students to establish learning goals and make learning plans,strengthening students’ awareness of using English learning strategies,monitoring students’ use of learning strategies,and monitoring and evaluating students’ English learning process can cultivate autonomous learning ability under the blended learning model.In response to the problems arising from the implementation of the blended learning model that explores students’ autonomous learning ability,this thesis puts forward the following three suggestions:firstly,strengthening the use of English learning strategies to improve students’ comprehensive English language skills;secondly,supervising the use of students’ smart devices and guiding students to develop hobbies and make friends;thirdly,promoting the implementation of differentiated instruction and increasing students’ opportunities for group cooperative learning. |
