A Report On The Translation Of Ren Zhengfei & Huawei(Excerpts)

In recent years,China?s economy has achieved world-renowned development,and Chinese companies have gradually “going global.” A great number of world-famous enterprises and entrepreneurs have appeared.With Chinese culture going global,telling Chinese stories well has become a trend of our times.However,the research on the translation of Chinese enterprises and entrepreneurs works is in dire need of growth.Therefore,the author believes it is of great significance to study the translation of Chinese enterprises and entrepreneurs works.This source text is selected from Ren Zhengfei & Huawei,which records how Ren Zhengfei turned Huawei into one of the world?s most recognized business brands and the much admired management philosophy behind its success.Due to abundant terminologies and expressions with Chinese characteristics in the source text,the author chose the translation continuation task,proposed by Wang Chuming,which combines understanding and output more closely.The author applied its translation procedures to the translation practice,such as learning from the provided text,continuing the subsequent translation and comparing with the original translation.Based on these,the author analyzed its alignment effect by Ultra Compare and examined its impact on translation outputs by Coh-Metrix.It showed that in translation continuation task,where translation was tightly coupled with reading comprehension,alignment occurred in words,phrases and sentence patterns.The translator learned some language expressions from the reading materials during the translation process.The translation output was more accurate in the use of vocabulary,cohesion and so on.Therefore,translation continuation task can improve the translation quality effectively.
