| With the close trade between countries, the global economy has developed rapidly.China has grown fast in the financial sector.Financial English translation has therefore received considerable attention. In view of this, the financial academic text selected in this paper mainly deals with the establishment of the labor market institutions. As a matter of fact,it belongs to informative text. The language of it is highly professional, and it asks for high level of translation competence for translators. This translation practice paper, based on the functional equivalence theory of Eugene Nida, explores translation strategies in English-Chinse translation by means of text analysis, case study and contrastive analysis, and the case analysis is made from four aspects: vocabulary, sentence, text and financial chart. At the vocabulary level,it focuses on the formation of phrases, the translation of semantic extension, the construction and proofreading of the glossary,so as to achieve functional equivalence and meet the style of financial English. At the sentence level,it fully grasps the language features of financial English, such as the large-scale use of long and difficult sentences, and then according to the analysis and comparison of English grammatical logic and semantic logic, appropriate translation techniques are used in a targeted manner, such as consecutive translation, segmentation, recasting and amplification. At the textual level, cohesion is used to make the transition of the original text smooth and natural. As for chart translation, the comparison of technical terms and amplification is used frequently for accurate translation.Through this translation practice, the author realizes that the translation of financial academic texts should be reader-oriented,and translator should focus on delivering the message accurately and using translation skills flexibly. It is hoped that this practical report will make a modest contribution to the translation study of the same genre. |
