The Realization Mechanism And Motivation Of "N的V" Structure

In modern Chinese,the structure of "N 的 V" is a positive phrase with the verb as the core,such as "he likes","the formulation of new policies" and "the destruction of human beings/ecological balance".This kind of structure can be seen as usually in the form of simple sentences "SVO" conversion.That is that the sentence "he liked me" can be seen as the basis of the structure of "his like","establishment of new policy" are converted from "government departments formulated the new policy","the destruction of the human/the destruction of ecological balance" is converted from "humans destroyed the ecological balance ".After the transformation,the whole structure became the nominal phrase.Therefore,according to this phenomenon,we will study the realization mode,realization mechanism and motivation of this kind of structure.Chapter One is the introduction.The introduction mainly expounds the significance of the topic selection and the research status of "N 的 V" structure.Meanwhile,it also explains the relevant linguistic theories and methods adopted in this paper and the sources of corpus.The second chapter mainly investigates the realization way of "N 的 V" structure.We mainly study the characteristics of "N 的 V" entering the "N 的 V" structure from three aspects: the formation mode of "N 的 V" structure,the syntactic and semantic characteristics of "V" and the semantic role of "N".The third chapter mainly analyzes the realization mechanism of "N 的 V" structure,that is,the internal factors that affect the establishment of "N 的 V" structure.In this chapter,based on the generalized transitivity theory proposed by Hopper&Thompson(1980),this kind of structure is systematically studied,and the implementation mechanism of the "V" structure of "N" is explored through the transitivity of "V" and the actuation and susceptivity of "N".At the same time,we will also explore the relationship between this kind of structure and the nominalization of verbs.The fourth chapter mainly explores the influencing factors of the formation of "N的 V" structure in the chapter.We first study the textual function of the "N 的 V" structure,and analyze the textual motivation of the formation of the "N的V" structure,and finally investigate the limitations of the "N 的 V" structure in the text.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,expounding the main conclusions of this paper and the problems to be further studied and solved.
