A Report On The Interpreting At The Closing Ceremony Of The First Global Hotel Designer Competition

Whispered interpreting is often applied when the target audience is less than 3 or4 people who need a service of interpreting.Based on the author’s practice of whispered interpreting for Mr.Riccardo Dal Mas,one of the judges and a famous Italian architect,at the Closing Ceremony of the First Global Hotel Designer Competition held in Beijing on November 23,2019,this report is mainly divided into four parts: task description,interpreting process,case analysis,and conclusion.For the interpreting process,this report involves pre-task preparation,on-site interpreting and post-task evaluation.Besides,the author tells about the characteristics of whispered interpreting and lists the difficulties encountered in the task,and offers the tactics,such as anticipation,sentence reconstruction and omission.Although this interpreting practice is an individual case,many interpreting tactics and examples can be used as references for other interpreting learners to enlighten their practice.
