Autobiographical memory refers to people’s recollection of events experienced in daily life,which is a special memory related to the self and closely related to the individual’s mental health level.With the deepening and expansion of China’s urbanization process,in order to seek a better life,more and more young rural workers go out for work,thus giving birth to left-behind children,a special social vulnerable group.The mental health problems of left-behind children have been attracting academic attention.However,previous research on autobiographical memory in the literature has shown a tendency to polarized---either focusing on the normal population or focusing on the patients with symptoms of mental disorders.Although the nature of the continuous transition from normal to abnormal mental health has been widely recognized,there is a distinct "gap" in the spectrum of current research on autobiographical memory,and left-behind children are a natural group of subjects who are prone to psychological problems but not serious enough to reach the level of illness.In view of this,this paper intends to study the characteristics of the generalization of left-behind children’s autobiographical memory,which is conducive to a detailed understanding of this special group from a new perspective,to explore the mental health status,and to provide corresponding suggestions.This article takes left-behind children who are more likely to have psychological problems from the perspective of continuum as the research object,and follows experimental ethics throughout the investigation and research process.First,the Beck Depression Inventory and Self-Rating Depression Scale are used to screen the mental health of 775 students in an out-of-poor county in Guizhou Province.Second,an experiment is used to test the generalization degree of left-behind children’s autobiographical memory from the perspective of a continuous spectrum.And in Experiment 2 and Experiment 3,the interview method combine with the experiment method is used to deeply explore the relationship between the degree of generalization of left-behind children’s autobiographical memory and their traumatic experience.Finally,the specific content of left-behind children’s autobiographical memory is sorted and analyzed.This research has reached the following conclusions:(1)The overall mental health problems of adolescent students are prominent,and the depression tendency is generally high.There is no significant difference in the level of depression between left-behind children and non-left-behind children.The degree of depression of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.(2)The degree of generalization of autobiographical memory under positive clues shows a trend of continuous spectrum characteristics between non-left-behind children and left-behind children,but it is not significant.(3)The degree of generalization of autobiographical memory under negative clues did not show a unified trend in the three experiments.(4)Based on the longitudinal comparison of the three experimental results,the generalization of an individual’s autobiographical memory is closely related to its traumatic experience,that is,when the clue word can evoke the deepest experience in the individual’s own heart,the more likely the individual is to produce a clear generalization phenomenon.Overall,the mental health of left-behind children urgently needs attention and attention.Combining the results of this research and the problems found in the field investigation and interview process,this article puts forward corresponding enlightenments and suggestions from three levels in the comprehensive discussion: starting from scientific issues,conducting scientific research,and presenting enlightenments from scientific research level;from education propose targeted education suggestions to the school based on problems;propose social-level care suggestions based on social problems,and the three progress step by step.These findings have important theoretical and practical value for maintaining the mental health of young students and promoting the development of the mental health of left-behind children.Finally,this thesis also point out the problems and deficiencies in the research process,and put forward the follow-up research and prospects.
