Lucid dreams are specific mental states that one knows he/she is dreaming during his/her dreams. The way the self-awareness presents and the structure and division of self are differently considered by psychologists. In this thesis I investigate and analyze the self-consciousness structure during lucid dreams from a philosophy perspective.Especially I concentrate on the self-reference structure in lucid dreams, which refers to the core relationship between lucidity and dream ego.To begin with,I present and analyze some relevant neuroscience and psychological conclusions about lucid dreams and their mechanism, and then I distinguish the lucidity from meta-awareness and analogous lucidity as well as describe the phenomenological characters of lucidity. After that in the core argument of this thesis,I use the resource of the subjectivity theory in phenomenology to investigate the referential relation from lucidity towards dream ego: Is it a higher-order structure or a one-level account of consciousness? I attempt to demonstrate that although it seems that there are several consciousness layers in lucid dreams,it belongs to a one-level consciousness model.Dream ego is transparent which can be directly and thoroughly grasped by dream lucidity. At last, based on the standpoint of one-level account of consciousness,I analyze and make clear the(self-)consciousness structure and its layers in lucid dreams.Based on this conclusion,I finally give some responses to the discussions among psychologists of the layer of consciousness in lucid dreams, from a phenomenological perspective.
