This thesis is a retrospective report on the C-E translation of the publicity materials for multi-type websites of AI project.The translation task was entrusted by Eagle Eye Translation Service Co.,Ltd.,and the translated materials are published on the official website for the target foreign readers.The text type of enterprise publicity belongs to both “informative” and “operative”,with more emphasis on the latter.The translation of foreign publicity,therefore,should pay more attention to the communicative function,making it more convenient for the target readers to accept the information conveyed,and the Adaptation Theory was employed to guide the translation practice.The report is divided into five chapters.Chapter One is Task Description,in which the background information of the task,the linguistic features of the source texts and the requirements of the entruster are described.Chapter Two is about translation process,including preparations,translating,and revision and feedback.Chapter Three introduces the Adaptation Theory and its application in publicity materials translation.Chapter Four is the body of the report,Case Analysis.Those effective translation skills and strategies employed under the guidance of Adaptation Theory,such as Literal and Liberal translation,Domestication,Amplification and Omission,Annotation,Conversion,etc.are expounded and analyzed in detail through typical cases from levels of titles,lexis and syntax.The last chapter is Conclusion.
