Study On "Make ’Home’ Together" Children’s Picture Books Design

Traditional mortise-and-tenon technology is a way to connect concave with convex wooden structure.It can compose furniture and buildings,and it’s an excellent traditional technology that has been passed and inherited for thousands of years in China.This study chooses the traditional mortise-and-tenon technology as the content of the picture book design display,mainly discussing the design presentation and the application communication of traditional mortise-and-tenon technology in the children’s picture book design.Author read through the related literature of the traditional mortise-and-tenon technology to make a detailed understandings of the history,structure,and feature of the traditional mortise-and-tenon technology,and tap the stories that can be created;the excellent children’s picture books about traditional technology are searched to make theoretical analysis on the content description,form of expression,as well as reading experience of this sort of picture book design.All these steps are taken in order to explore how to make young readers have the strong reading desire and better reading experience,that is exactly the idea and concept of this paper.The creating practice of making children’s picture books is themed as “Make ‘Home’Together”.The traditional mortise-and-tenon technology is showed and displayed through the story plots and visual graphics.Paper books are mainly used as the expression form to design and paint the children’s picture books that transmitting the traditional culture,in order to make children understand the traditional mortise-and-tenon technology as well as its long and ancient culture connotation.Besides,author make conclusions on the way to design,expression forms and constitution principle of children’s picture books based on the design practice.Author also discuss the difference of design expressions and communication effects through different medias under the same topic.The study of this project can offer more reference for the creative combination of traditional technology and modern design,effectively arousing the attention on the Chinese traditional technology of the young generation,achieving the goal of inheriting the excellent art and culture,as well as enhancing the culture confidence.
