In the process of English teaching reform,traditional grammar teaching methods can directly present grammar knowledge and help students deepen their understanding of what they have learned.However,due to the single process of "teaching-learning",teachers neglect the importance of training language skills.At the same time,this model has caused many problems.For example,many students passively accept grammar rules,and it is not ideal to internalize grammar knowledge,and students can’t output grammar knowledge effectively.American linguist Larson-Freeman proposed that grammar teaching should be developed from three dimensions grammatical form,meaning and application.The form mainly considers how language unit is constituted;the meaning focuses on what meaning is expressed;the application emphasizes when and why grammar knowledge is used.Therefore,through questionnaire、test、interview and literature methods,the author tries to apply three-dimensional grammar teaching theory to English grammar teaching model Based on thematic context,behaviorism theory and constructivism theory,this research analyzes how to make use of the role of three-dimensional grammar teaching theory in English grammar teaching model.The subjects of this research are from Grade 2 Class 3 and Class 4 in senior high school in J city.Students of two classes are in ordinary parallel class with a total of 93 students.Class 3 is an experimental class,the author will use three-dimensional grammar teaching method for grammar teaching.Class 4 is a controlled class by using traditional grammar-translation method.Based on three-dimensional grammar teaching method,this paper mainly analyze the following questions:(1)Based on traditional teaching methods,what is the advantage of applying three-dimensional grammar teaching theory to English grammar teaching mode?(2)Whether three-dimensional grammar teaching theory applied to grammar teaching mode can improve students’ ability to use grammar knowledge?Therefore,the researcher applies three-dimensional grammar teaching theory to English grammar teaching mode,and analyzes the date of test、questionnaire and interview in pre-test and post-test stage.There are some following conclusions:first,teachers use three-dimensional grammar teaching theory to present grammar knowledge in a specific context,which can stimulate students’interest in learning grammar knowledge,and improve their perception and comprehension of grammar knowledge;second,teachers design some meaningful activities,it can cultivate students’learning habits and foreign language thinking,and improve their ability to use grammar knowledge;third,teachers apply three-dimensional grammar teaching theory to English grammar teaching model,which can enrich English grammar teaching model and provide new ideas for grammar teaching in senior high school.Therefore,there are also some implications of this study in senior high school.In terms of students,teachers should design funny and real teaching activities,which can effectively promote students’ mastery for grammar knowledge and learning skills,and improve their ability to use grammar knowledge;in terms of teachers,through exploring and applying three-dimensional grammar teaching theory,teachers should improve their own grammar teaching methods,classroom efficiency and teaching quality.Meanwhile,teachers should keep up with the requirements of new curriculum reform,and insist on keeping pace with the times.
