| Henan Opera is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.With the improvement of China’s international status and the strategy of Chinese culture going out,the translation and overseas communication of Henan Opera has gradually attracted people’s attention.However,the process of overseas spread of Henan Opera is still relatively slow.Henan Opera Hua Mulan has become a well-known classic with its rich cultural connotation,famous characters and rhythmic lyrics.It has a high value of translation and communication.Skopos theory is the guiding theory of this translation practice.It emphasizes three rules: skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule.It provides an insight into the nature of translation as a purposeful activity,which is directly applicable to translation.The translation task is to translate the whole script of the classic Henan Opera Hua Mulan.This report mainly adopts the method of case analysis to probes into the strategies of translating Henan Opera into English,and proves that it is feasible to use various translation strategies and techniques to translate Henan Opera into English under the guidance of Skopos theory.The author hopes that this report may put forward some practical suggestions on the translation and overseas spread of Henan Opera.It is also hoped that foreign learners and researchers who are interested in Henan Opera may get some valuable information and useful enlightenment from this translation practice. |
