Analysis On The Present Situation And Value Of The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal(Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Section)in The Post-world Heritage Era

With a total length of 1794 kilometers,the Beijing-Hangzhou grand canal is not only the longest man-made canal in the world,but also the longest used one.After more than two thousand years of historical precipitation,the BeijingHangzhou grand canal has formed a very strong cultural connotation,is an important link to the Chinese civilization.In 2014,the grand canal was listed as a world heritage site.However,as a "living" heritage,the grand canal may be damaged at any time by construction,ecology and other aspects of its authenticity and integrity,and its "living" nature is more risky than other heritage sites.The authenticity and integrity of the grand canal is the guarantee of the "living state" of the grand canal,the combination of material and civilization,representing the present of the grand canal.The continuation of the heritage value and the enhancement and remodeling of the value of the grand canal is an important guarantee for the grand canal to stand in the world cultural heritage and represents the future development of the grand canal.This paper briefly describes the channel change history of the BeijingHangzhou grand canal,this period of coastal city space development process and present situation,at home and abroad and combining with the universal values of the Beijing-Hangzhou grand canal and other heritage line comparison research,highlight the value of the Beijing-Hangzhou grand canal,has been to other complex heritage properties for inspiration,referencing the heritage protection strategy,put forward the protection mechanism to establish suitable for China’s grand canal heritage value.
