A Study Of Greetings And Partings In Central Asian Countries From The Perspective Of Intercultural Communication

As countries on the "Silk Road Economic Belt",central Asian countries have increasingly close exchanges with China in economy,trade,culture and other aspects.Although China and the five central Asian countries are geographically adjacent,there are some problems in the process of cross-cultural communication due to the differences in language and culture.Verbal communication is an important part of intercultural communication.Analyzing the influencing factors of verbal communication is conducive to communication and exchange in cross-cultural communication.This paper divides greetings into greeting languages,inquiry greeting languages,comment greeting languages and appellation greeting languages.It divides partings into basic parting languages,seeing off parting languages,big farewell parting languages.Taking the central Asian students in Xinjiang Normal University as the research objects,this paper studied the actual situation of using greetings and partings in central Asian countries by means of questionnaire and interview.The content of the questionnaire is designed and analyzed according to three aspects: family,school and society.In this survey,a total of 159 valid questionnaires were collected from central Asian students.The questionnaire analysis software SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis of the questionnaire data.Through the analysis of each subject,the author understands that the greetings and partings used by central Asian people in different places at different times have their own unique features when facing different groups of people.Through the comparison with China,it is found that both sides have similarities and differences in the use of greeting and partings.Meanwhile,through the research of the survey data,it is found that the factors influencing the use of greetings and partings by the students in central Asia include pragmatic factors,semantic factors and cultural factors.Pragmatic factors mainly include the objective factors such as the time,place and occasion of the use of verbal signs and the subjective factors such as the age and gender of the users of verbal signs.Semantic factors mainly refer to the specific meaning of greetings and partings.Cultural factors include thinking mode,values and national psychology.In view of the different factors that influence the using of greetings and partings,the author puts forward the inspirations from the communication with central Asian countries to promote the smooth development of cross-cultural communication.
