Philosophical Studies On Cyborg’s Body

In this paper,through comprehensive and systematic analysis connotation and the basic theory of body philosophy of Cyborg’s body,the paper expounds the body characteristics of Cyborg,puts forward the philosophical problems caused by Cyborg’s body,and ponders and responds to these problems.As a kind of control organism,a mixture of technology and biology,"Cyborg" is the realistic product of the society of science and technology.The types of cyborg can be divided into peripheral type,embedded type and connected brain type.Cyborg’s body is not a simple superposition of technology and body,but a product of the mutual construction of technology and body.Its existence challenges the traditional dualism and has the characteristics of nondualism.Through drawing on and absorbing Merleau-Ponty’s body-subject view,Donna J.Haraway’s research on the boundaries and metaphors of Cyborg’s body,and Ihde.D’s enbodiment of technical body.It is concluded that the body characteristics of Cyborg can be reconstructed,enhanced and repaired;the human brain can adapt to and cooperate with technical objects through training;the consciousness of Cyborg can be preserved through technical means.At the same time,Cyborg’s body boundary is blurry,its body can cross the boundaries of race and gender,and has the characteristics of virtual entity and fuzzy subjective and objective boundaries.The diversity of the body characteristics of Cyborg leads to the complexity of the study on Cyborg’s body.The possible philosophical problems caused by Cyborg’s body include its subjectivity,body boundary and the risks and responsibilities of Cyborg’s body technology.In this paper,we think and respond to these problems,that is,in the discussion of Cyborg’s subjectivity,mutual subjectivity can be considered instead of subjectivity;Cyborg’s body boundary is vague,but to a certain extent,it reconstructs the identity and status of women;the development of Cyborg’s technology should follow the rules of ethics and the requirements of responsible innovation.
