With the deepening of English curriculum reform,English teaching is attaching more and more importance to cultivating the ability to communicate in English.Spoken English teaching is becoming more and more important and irreplaceable.In addition,with the development of educational informatization,the combination of education and modern information technology has become inevitable.As a new way of learning,mobile assisted language learning(MALL)gradually appears and develops more and more rapidly.Based on the theories of situated cognitive and interactive learning,a study is conducted on Reading Partner APP(RP APP)assisted spoken English teaching,aiming to verify the effect of MALL on the oral English ability for junior middle school students.The thesis attempts to answers the following two research questions:Question 1: What effect does RP APP assisted spoken English teaching have onoral English competence for junior middle school students?Question 2: What’s the perception of junior middle school students on RP APPassisted spoken English learning?The empirical research was conducted at Zhongyangchang Junior Middle School in Jilin Province.The experiment lasted for 16 weeks.The participants were 76 students from two parallel classes in Grade Seven.The research instruments included tests,text analysis,questionnaire and an interview.The experimental data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively in the study.The results show that RP APP assisted spoken English teaching has a positive effect on the oral expression ability of junior middle school students.It helps improve the accuracy of students’ pronunciation,but it does not play a significant role in the accuracy of grammar.And it is conducive to reducing the number of pauses and repetitions in students’ oral expression and improving their fluency of oral expression.Students expressed that the application of RP APP in oral English teaching has improved students’ interest and increased students’ confidence in oral English expression.Therefore,MALL can not only cultivate students’ enthusiasm but also ensure the effectiveness of oral English learning.
