On The Application Of Skopos Theory In C-E Simultaneous Interpreting

This practice report is based on a Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting in line with the three principles of Skopos theory.The selected material is a Chinese lecture of Inspur in 2017 "open day",which lasts about one hour.The main content is to introduce the relevant situation of Inspur,including but not limited to Inspur’s employer culture,endeavor culture and strategic plan of human resources.This report analyzes the flexible vocabulary,verbose repetition,fast speech speed,loose sentence structure and logical structure confusion that is encountered in the process of simultaneous interpretation.Based on the skopos rules,coherence rules and faithfulness rules,the author used generalization,omission,reorganization,additional translation,and literal translation to solve these problems.Through the analysis of the problems in the process,the author found her own shortcomings and proposed improvement methods.She also realized that in addition to preparing for interpretation,it is more important to practice and cultivate the language logic ability and the excellent spot psychological quality in daily life,and improve the interpreter’s own level and skills.
