Research On Zhan Jianfeng’s Theory Of ’Logic In Pre-Qin Period’

The argument of "whether there was logic before Qin Dynasty" in the first half of the 20th century is of great significance to the history of Chinese logic.The retrospection and analysis of it can not only remove all kinds of specious fogs,but also explain the existence of Chinese logic history in the contemporary era.Development provides legitimacy and expands the content of the modern stage.At the same time,it can also provide valuable experience for ancient Chinese logic and even cultural studies to inject solid vitality into "cultural confidence".In this debate,Zhan JianFeng as an important role,not only the theory of "the pre-qin logic" were a strong defense,and also to a more comprehensive summary of argument,so the essence of argument for the deep understanding of and reflection on the study of contemporary Chinese logic to a certain and defense,combined with the argument of Zhan JianFeng study "the pre-qin logic"theory is particularly valuable.With this as the theme,this paper has carried out the following work:It introduces the background and research significance of this topic in the first part,and at the same time investigates the research status of this issue at home and abroad and summarizes the writing ideas,innovations and deficiencies of the full text.It mainly summarizes and analyzes the debate of "whether there is logic in the pre-Qin period" in the first half of the 20th century in the second part,and which retrospects the academic origin of Zhan Jianfeng and the previous history of the subject of Chinese logic history.Firstly,this paper introduces the social,political,ideological and cultural background of the debate.Then the development process of the debate is summarized;Finally,the viewpoints involved in the debate are divided into four categories according to the new standards and the viewpoints of each school are analyzed.It mainly introduces Zhan Jianfeng and his Formal Logic of Mohism in the third part.The first part reviews Zhan Jianfeng’s academic career and summarizes his view of"grand logic".The second part summarizes and analyzes the main features,aims and values of the book.It integrates Zhan Jianfeng’s theory of "Logic in Pre-Qin Period"in the fourth part.The first part is "orthodoxy",which introduces how it demonstrates "Mo-debate is formal logic" according to the system of western formal logic and from each unit of formal logic one by one.The second section summarizes Zhan Jianfeng’s argumentations with Hu Shi and Hou Wailu in order to maintain the legitimacy of Mohist logic and strengthen the argumentation of his theory of "Logic in the pre-Qin Period".It is summary and reflection in the last part.Firstly,this paper dialectically evaluates Zhan Jianfeng’s theory and argument of "Logic in the Pre-Qin Period".Secondly,it reflects on Zhan Jianfeng’s "Logic in the Pre-Qin Period" and even the study of ancient Chinese logic to a certain extent.In the end,this paper makes a summary review,clarifies his attitude towards Zhan Jianfeng’s views and arguments,and expresses the author’s recognition and understanding of the view of grand logic.
