| With the increasing economic and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries,China is paying more and more attention to the development and dissemination of its traditional culture.Concise and lyrical,poetry is full of cultural characteristics.As a category of poetry,Zati poetry is often ignored,but its unique cultural charm should be paid attention to.Therefore,the translator chooses to translate part of An Introduction to Ancient Chinese Zati Poetry in order to spread Chinese Zati Poetry.An Introduction to Ancient Chinese Zati Poetry is an academic monograph on Chinese Zati Poetry,which belongs to the study of modern literary criticism.This traslation practice mainly involves the translation of modern literary criticism with some translation of ancient Chinese literary criticism.This report is a translation practice report based on the translation of the second chapter"The Origin of Normal and Abnormal Poetry and the Demarcation of Zati Poetry" of An Introduction to Ancient Chinese Zati Poetry.The report reviews the analysis and research of the translation task and the translation process.And it expounds the translation methods transliteration,transliteration with annotation,literal translation and liberal translation used by the translator at the lexical level,as well as the translation techniques addition,omission,combination and shift used at the syntactic level in the form of case studies to explore the guiding role of domestication and foreignization in this translation practice.The translator has the following findings:first,as far as the text of literary criticism is concerned,foreignization is usually used at the lexical level while domestication is often used at the syntactic level;second,in terms of content and form,foreignization is useful in keeping the contents of the original text while domestication is useful to create a new form in translation that is accustomed to the readers of the target language;third,the relationship between foreignization and domestication is not incompatible but complementary and can be used together in a sentence. |
