Objective(s):This study aims to investigate the current status of childhood maltreatment, depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms and depression combined with anxiety symptoms in children and adolescents in Lincang City,Yunnan Province, and to analyze the influencing factors of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms and their comorbid symptoms.Exploring the mediating mechanism between childhood maltreatment and depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms in children and adolescents.Supplements existing research on the relationship between childhood maltreatment and depression, anxiety, and provides some ideas for psychological educators to better reduce depression and anxiety in children and adolescentsMethods:This study is a cross-sectional study conducted in Lincang City,Yunnan Province, southwestern China. The process was obtained by multi-stage cluster sampling to obtain research samples.A total of 3234 students in this study completed the questionnaire.Except for the gender variable missing data for 2 subjects, the childhood trauma questionnaire lacked data for 1 subject, and the rest of the data were not missing. This study used a self-compiled social demographic questionnaire, the The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form(CTQ-SF),the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescents(RSCA),the Mobile Phone Addiction Scale(MPAS),the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 scale(PHQ-9),ang the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 scale(GAD-7),all of questionnaire are self-report scales.Descriptive statistics,T test,chi-square test, analysis of variance, logistic regression and other methods in SPSS were used to perform descriptive analysis, difference analysis, correlation analysis and factor analysis on the characteristics of the recovered research samples. And use Mplus to build a structural equation model,to conduct a path analysis of the mediating effect from childhood abuse to depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms.Results:1.Descriptive statistics and difference analysis:students those have positive depression symptoms(PHQ-9≥10)accounted for 16.23%,have positive anxiety symptoms(GAD-7≥10)accounted for 11.53%,and positive depression combined with anxiety symptoms(PHQ-9≥10 and GAD-7≥10)accounted for 9.4%.The results about groups of depression symptom showed that the number of people in the minimal group accounted for 52.4%,the mild group 31.4%,the moderate group 10.5%,the moderate severe group 3.3%,and the severe symptom 2.4%.Groups of anxiety symptom results showed that the number of minimal group accounted for 64.4%,mild group 24%,moderate group 7.1%,severe symptom 4.4%.Depression,anxiety symptoms and depression combined with anxiety symptoms have significant differences in demographic variables such as gender, boring or not, grade, living partten, smoking and driking or not,and also have significant differences in the level of childhood meltreament, resilience and mobile phone addiction.2.Correlation analysis:The results of correlation analysis showed that childhood abuse, mobile phone dependence, depressive symptoms, and anxiety symptoms are positively correlated, and these four variables are negatively correlated with mental resilience.3.Difference test:(1)In the average level of childhood abuse, boys are significantly higher than girls,Han students are significantly higher than ethnic minorities,non-only children are significantly higher than only children, and low-income families are significantly higher than high-income families,non-boarding students are significantly higher than boarding students, elementary school students are significantly high school students, students who do not live with their parents are significantly higher than those who live with both parents, and students who smoke and drink are significantly higher than those who do not smoke or drink;(2)On the average level of mental resilience, boys are significantly higher than girls, ethnic minority students are significantly higher than Han,only children are significantly higher than non-only children,high-income families are significantly higher than low-income families, and non-boarding students are significantly higher than boarding students, elementary school students are significantly higher than high school students, students who do not live with their parents are significantly higher than those who live with both parents, and students who smoke and drink are significantly lower than those who do not smoke or drink;(3)On the average level of mobile phone addiction, girls are significantly higher than boys, ethnic minority students are significantly higher than Han,non-only children are significantly higher than only children,low-income families are significantly higher than high-income families, and boarding students are significantly higher than non-boarding students, high school students are significantly higher than elementary school students, students who do not live with their parents are significantly higher than those who live with both parents, and students who smoke and drink are significantly higher than those who do not smoke or drink;(4)In terms of the average level of depression and anxiety, there is no significant difference in the level of anxiety among ethnic groups, and there is no significant in whether the only child is.The rest of the demographic difference test is that girls are significantly higher than boys,low-income families are significantly higher than high-income students, high school students are significantly higher than elementary school students, students who do not live with their parents are significantly higher than those who live with parents, smoking and drinking significantly higher than non-smokers,non-drinking students.4.Logistic regression analysis:Multivariate logistic regression analysis shows that among sociodemographic variables, girls, junior high school students, and living with one parent are risk factors for depressive symptoms;girls, high school students, only child and drinking are all risk factors for anxiety symptoms;girls, high school students, and drinking are risk factors for depression with anxiety symptoms. At the same time, childhood maltreatment and mobile phone addiction are risk factors for depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms, and resilience is a protective factor for these negative emotions.5.Path analysis results show that resilience and mobile phone addiction are the mediating factors from childhood maltreatment to depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms. In the path from childhood maltreatment to depressive symptoms, the total indirect effects played by the two accounted for 66.91%,of which the mediating effect of resilience accounted for 35.31%,the mediating effect of mobile phone addiction accounted for 6.42%,and the effect of the chain intermediary, from resilience to mobile phone addiction, accounts for 25.19%.In the path from childhood maltreatment to anxiety symptoms, the total indirect effects played by the two accounted for 66.08%,of which the mediating effect of resilience accounted for 36.18%,the mediating effect of mobile phone addiction accounted for 6.28%,and the effect of the chain intermediary, from resilience to mobile phone addiction, accounts for 23.87%.The results show that resilience has the strongest mediating effect between childhood maltreatment and depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, followed by the chain mediating effect of the two factors, and the mediating effect of mobile phone addiction is the weakest.Conclusions:1.The results of this study show that some children and adolescents in Lincang City,Yunnan Province have depressive symptoms and anxiety symptms.Students, parents and schools need to find emotional problems in time, pay attention to emotional fluctuations, and actively seek solutions.2.Girls,high school students, and living with one parent are high-risk groups for depression;girls, high school students, only children, and drinking are high-risk groups for anxiety;girls, high school students, and drinking are high-risk groups for depression combined anxiety.Mental health educators need to pay close attention to these students, detect emotional problems as early as possible and carry out effective interventions.3.Childhood maltreatment not only directly affects the severity of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms among children and adolescents, but also indirectly affects depression and anxiety through resilience and mobile phone addiction.Among them, the mediating effect of resilience is the strongest, the chain mediating effect of the two is the second, and the mediating effect of mobile phone addictions is the weakest. |
