The exquisite wood carvings are carved on the most representative stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan,which fully reflects the woodworking technology and folk culture of Tujia people in west Hunan at that time.In current academic research,there is a lack of corresponding systematic data on the repair and preservation of stilted buildings.Therefore,this paper is to collect and organize the wood carving pattern data of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan,so as to facilitate subsequent research and protection.Based on the related theories of folklore,pattern science,and statistics,this paper studies the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan,and clarifies the content combination of the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan.This paper combines literature and investigations,uses the research methods of induction and interviews,and uses computer graphics software to process wood carving patterns to achieve the purpose of constructing the vector library of the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan.This paper studies the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan from the following three aspects:one is the woodworking skills of the wood carving patterns;the second is the content and form of the wood carving patterns;the third is the folk culture of the wood carving patterns.Firstly,materials about the tools and techniques of wood carving were collected;the advantages and disadvantages of traditional and modern woodworking tools were analyzed;via field observation,the style of wood carving knife,six carving techniques and three carving techniques were summarized.Via the field investigations,materials related to wood carving patterns were collected;from a statistical point of view,the subject content of wood carving patterns was sorted and analyzed by category;and the content combination of the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan was summarized.Secondly,from the perspective of pattern science,the composition and expression methods of the wood carving patterns of Tujia people in west Hunan were analyzed;the main composition styles such as symmetry,strengthening and weakening,change and unity on the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan were summarized;from the perspective of semiotics,the theory that the symbolic ideology of the woodcarving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan is composed of image symbols,indicators,and symbolic symbols was obtained.Finally,from the perspective of folklore,the history and culture of Tujia people in west Hunan were interpreted,and the wood carving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan were discovered to reflect the moral,educational,religious and decorative functions.While satisfying these functions,wood carving patterns gradually formed the unique folk culture idea of Animism,couple hardness with softness and happiness and luck in Tujia people in west Hunan.This paper analyzed the woodcarving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan from multiple perspectives.According to statistical methods,this paper summarized the main woodcarving style tables of the woodcarving building components of stilted buildings,summarized the aesthetic performance of the woodcarving patterns of each building component and made a statistical table,to form a vector library of wood carving patterns about the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan.Therefore,the woodcarving patterns of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan have been more clearly recognized,and the aesthetic principles of woodcarving patterns have been more deeply understood,which provides reference for the repair of the architectural wood carvings of the stilted buildings,and restoration of the wood carving features of the stilted buildings of Tujia people in west Hunan. |
