| Childhood Childhood family adversity refers to the insecure,threatening,and hostile environment during an individual’s childhood.This traumatic environment will have negative impacts on the individual’s growth and psychological states.It is difficult for children who have experienced childhood family adversity to develop well-functioning personality and adaptability in subsequent life,which directly affects their psychological security,social support and other aspects.Through the adoption of the “Childhood Family Adversity Questionnaire”,“Identity Status Scale” revised by Zhang,“Security Questionnaire” by Cong and An,and “Social Support Rate Scale”by Xiao,A total of 240 valid questionnaires were collected.The results of the study showed that children who have experienced childhood family adversity have a worse self-identity compared with those children who live in a happy and safe environment.As self-identity is a very important aspect of an individual’s psychological function,problems with individual self-identity can trigger unhealthy mental states in many aspects,such as depression and anxiety.This thesis focuses on the impact of childhood family adversity on people’s psychological security,social support,and self-identity.The main results are as follows:(1)Childhood family adversity has a direct impact on self-identity.College students who have experienced childhood family adversity will have worse self-identity.Demographic factors such as gender and educational background have no differential impact on self-identity.(2)Childhood family adversity has a direct effect on the psychological security since it will significantly reduce the psychological security of college students.(3)Childhood family adversity has a negative impact on social support.College students who experience childhood family adversity have a relatively low sense of social support.(4)The lack of psychological security of college students will affect their interpersonal relationships,which in turn,leading to a lower level of social support.The self-identity of college students will be affected by social support.The lack of psychological security and low level of social support will have a series of chain effects on the self-identity of college.(5)The effect of childhood family adversity on self-identity of college students is capital mediated by psychological security and social support,and psychological security and social support are totally mediated. |
