| From the eighth curriculum reform of basic education and the release of English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)to the release of the General Plan for Deepening the Reform of Education Evaluation in the New Era and the Guidelines for Compulsory Education Quality Evaluation,the reform of evaluation methods has been paid more and more attention by domestic education researchers and government agencies.Traditional educational evaluation methods can no longer meet the requirements of talent cultivation,so it is urgent to optimize the existing educational evaluation methods.Especially in the middle school English stage,the student evaluation is mainly based on the traditional paper-and-pencil test,ignoring the evaluation of students’ ability and quality.Therefore,in the face of various problems existing in the evaluation of junior middle school English students,it is necessary to find a more effective and reasonable way to evaluate students.As the focus of educational evaluation research,performance evaluation can make up for the deficiency of traditional evaluation in both content and form.At present,there are few researches on the combination of junior high school English and performance evaluation.Therefore,the author tries to apply the performance evaluation in the English teaching of junior high school,to discuss how to apply the performance evaluation in junior high school English teaching,and how the actual application effect is?Starting from theoretical research,this study firstly analyzes and sorts out relevant researches on performance evaluation,and clarifies the connotation and research status of performance evaluation.Secondly,five junior high schools in Chenzhou were selected as the survey samples,and the current situation of students’ evaluation of English teaching in junior high schools was investigated through the investigation method.The survey results show that there are seven problems in the evaluation of middle school students in English teaching at present,including maladjustment and bias of evaluation function,limitation of evaluation subject,relatively single evaluation method,incomplete evaluation content,low overall quality of evaluation feedback and limited evaluation criteria.On this basis,this study demonstrates the appropriateness of performance evaluation in junior high school English teaching.Then,based on relevant literature on performance evaluation and its relevance to junior high school English teaching,this study constructed an application process for junior high school English performance evaluation,which consisted of five steps,namely,clarifying evaluation objectives,design presentational tasks and develop scoring rules,organizing implementation and summarizing and reflecting.And combined with the application process to develop a series of specific application cases represented by oral report,written report and role playing.Finally,this study selected four classes in a school as experimental objects to carry out a one-year experiment on the application of performance evaluation.The results show that the performance assessment is match the junior middle school English teaching evaluation methods,and applied to the performance assessment,can achieve good effect in junior middle school English teaching,the application of performance assessment,to improve junior middle school students’ learning strategies and emotional attitudes,so as to better promote the junior middle school students English synthetic language using ability. |
