| On November 10,2019,the Annual Conference of Northeast Asia International Language and Culture Research Base(NAILCRB)was held in Jilin University, with the theme of “Exchange and Mutual Learning of Language and Culture”.More than120 scholars from colleges and universities at home and abroad were invited to this seminar and made academic speeches on the research of foreign language, culture and literature under the background of exchanges between countries in Northeast Asia. The author acted as C-E simultaneous interpreter for Kawai Yasushi,a professor from Tohoku University in Japan. After the meeting, she transcribed the recording into text, and wrote this practical report based on the corpus.Although the speaker provided some manuscripts in advance, many problems still occurred on the spot. The most serious one is information loss of the target language. Therefore, the practical analysis of this report mainly focuses on this problem. This report makes detailed analysis of the whole process of the interpretation practice.First of all,the author introduces the background and requirement of the task. Then she gives a description of the task process, including pre-task preparation, interpreting process, and the post-interpreting assessment from the audience and the reporter herself.Thirdly, according to two basic types of schemata, namely linguistic schema and content schema, this paper deeply explores the reasons for information loss. Finally,in view of different kinds of information loss, the author puts forward the corresponding strategy——amplification, including amplifying explanatory words, amplifying subject and object and amplifying connotation. It is expected that this report can be used as a reference for the interpreting learners to improve their own interpretation capability, and be constructive for their self-training in the future. |
