| With the continuous development of globalization,technical exchanges between countries are becoming more and more important.Many Chinese enterprises tend to import all kinds of advanced equipment from abroad to improve production efficiency.Technical manuals are written materials that introduce the installation and maintenance methods of the equipment in detail.The main function is to guide the user to operate the equipment correctly and safely.As the import volume of equipment continues to increase,the demand for translation of technical manuals has also increased sharply,of which the research is of great significance.The core of technical manual translation is to convey the information of the original source as faithfully as possible.The functional equivalence theory can help the translator choose the appropriate strategies in order to achieve the function of the manuals.Under the guidance of Nida’s theory,this report takes the original text and the translation as the research object,analyses the key and difficult points,as well as the solutions.When translating technical manuals,attention should be paid to the accuracy of the technical vocabulary,and the adjustment of the sentence structure.The specific examples and corresponding strategies presented in this paper are expected to provide some opinions for reference,so as to improve the efficiency and quality of the translation. |
