| In recent years,reading Chinese online novels has become a global trend.From the earliest Southeast Asia to North America and Europe,Chinese online novels have gained a large number of overseas readers,causing a cultural trend similar to Japanese manga and Korean love dramas.Online novel is characterized by the production on the Internet,so there is a lot of interaction between the authors and readers.Since 2005,Chinese online novels have begun to spread in Thailand.After more than a decade of development,it has gained a large and stable audience group in Thailand and become an important force in the global spread of Chinese culture,contributing a lot to the China-Thailand cultural exchange.However,due to the short history of its spread and the language barrier,there are few studies on the spread of Chinese Internet novels in Thailand,its characteristics,effect and problems.Through questionnaire survey and literature analysis,this paper analyzes the communication effect and characteristics of Chinese Internet novels spread in Thailand.This paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter mainly analyzes the concept of Chinese internet novels,and puts forward the significance of studying the spread of Chinese Internet novels in Thailand.The second chapter mainly analyzes the domestic dissemination environment of Chinese network novel,as well as the situation of Chinese online novel spread in Thailand.The third chapter first introduces the questionnaire design,and then analyzes the results of the questionnaire.The fourth chapter analyzes and discusses the problems in communication from the perspectives of communication channel,content and audience.The conclusion part summarizes the full text,and puts forward some suggestions to the Chinese network novel to enter Thailand.This study shows that the wide spread of Chinese online novels in Thailand has benefited from the strong support of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn,as well as the long-term cultural exchanges between China and Thailand,and is related to convenient communication channels.Chinese online novel fans are mainly the highly educated group,who have long been exposed to online literature and have developed the habit of reading Chinese online novels.They met three needs by reading Chinese online novels,namely entertainment and emotional release,understanding China and Chinese knowledge,and increasing social resources.Moreover,the vast majority of Thai audiences have a good attitude towards Chinese online novels.However,there are also problems in the spread of Chinese Internet novels in Thailand.For the communication channels,the speed of offline publication is much lower than that of online reading,which will destroy the reading experience of the audience.For the novel content,most of the works imported into Thailand are set in ancient China and lack of image-building of contemporary China.For the audience,the "silence" of the male audience is a common problem in such studies,and more research may be needed to study the male audience.This study fills a part of the gap in the study of Chinese Internet novels spread overseas and contributes to the spread of Chinese culture in Thailand.In terms of research methods,there are few researches in this field taking the form of questionnaire and contact audience directly,and this study also contributes to the portrayal of audience image.However,the study still has many shortcomings,for example,Thailand’s audience spread both online and offline,and this study only conclude online audience,so more research into offline audiences is needed in the future. |
