| Under the current severe background of the Global Covid-19,online teaching has become one of the main modes of Chinese language teaching,and its application has gained rapid momentum.Though the comprehensive course is the core course of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,there is still some room for further study on it.As South Korea is China’s third largest trading partner,learning Chinese has become a compulsory course for the country’s enterprises.Based on the author’s experience,this thesis analyzes the Chinese teaching cases of one-on-one online Intermediate Comprehensive Course(ICC)in CARROT(a South Korean enterprise’s training institution specialized in teaching Koreans Chinese)by method of questionnaires,interviews and classroom teaching video observation.The study sums up the status quo of South Korean enterprises’ Chinese Language Training institutions,and puts forward suggestions for its improvement.This thesis is mainly divided into six parts.The first part introduces the background,significance and theoretical basis,including the input hypothesis theory and the interaction hypothesis theory.The literature review summarizes the one-on-one teaching of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and the ICC teaching respectively,and pinpoints the necessity in studying the subject matter.The methods adopted are questionnaires,interviews,literature research and classroom observation.The second part gives a brief introduction to teaching conditions of CARROT,including the profile of teachers,students and teaching cases,platform,requirements,time and allocation.The third part,by analyzing the one-on-one online ICC teaching in terms of vocabulary,grammar and culture,sums up the institution’s teaching characteristics,advantages and disadvantages.The fourth part,through the analysis of the one-on-one online ICC teaching cases,the results of questionnaires,interviews,classroom observation and the author’s teaching experience,points out one-on-one online teaching problems from the perspective of teaching content,curriculum management,and learning evaluation.Study has found that the main problems with one-on-one online ICC in CARROT are first on the part of teachers: they can not give full play to the advantages of “interaction” during the one-on-one online teaching;and the teaching methods are adopted improperly.Besides,teachers fail to take advantage of online platform and do not plan the teaching time and content reasonably according to the functions of vocabulary,grammar and culture teaching in the teaching link of the course.Secondly,the main problems with the students are: their motivations are not clear enough;they lack initiatives in learning;and their casual attitude to class adjustment has affected the efficiency of learning.Lastly,the problems with the institution are: the design of teaching steps needs to be optimized;the interactive function of teaching platform is not well fulfilled;the unreasonable arrangement of class hours affects the quality of teaching;and the evaluation of learning conditions lacks accuracy and authority.The fifth part,combined with the author’s teaching experience,the author has advised that teachers should give full play to the advantages of “ interaction” in one-on-one online teaching,such as the design of teaching content and time allocation according to the proportion of different teaching links in the course.Besides,teachers should improve their teaching skills,enrich their professional knowledge,and try to enhance the class topic pertinence.As to students’ management,teachers are advised to make agreements with the institution to strengthen their learning motivation,lay down strict requirements on course adjustment,and achieve the teaching effect of “one-student-one-teacher in charge”.Teaching institutions should also make corresponding adjustments in light of class hours,platform optimization,learning assessment and so on.The sixth part,as a summary of the study,points out that the deficiencies of the thesis lie in the course type and the limited research on one-on-one online teaching.It is hoped that the research will play a positive role in the improvement of one-on-one online Chinese teaching,and serves as a reference to upgrade the quality of one-on-one online ICC teaching. |
